Cannibals & Carpet Fitters - Pre Production

on .

So I'm quite excited to get one of my own ideas off the ground, Cannibals and Carpet Fitters, the title says it all! I had the original idea a few years ago but didn't start putting it all together until late last year. I think the idea came from my love for british horror comedies, films like Shaun of the Dead, Dog Soldiers, Severance and the fact that I use to work for a carpet fitting firm when I was 17 was a big influence. I originally wrote the film as a full length feature script however to see if the concept works and to get some interest we want to create a short film version first, just to give audience's a taste of what a full length feature could be like. Lot's of gore, great characters and hopefully great entertainment.

I've been lucky enough to team up with Fascination Pictures guys I've known for a couple of years now. I was a big fan of their short film Blackout which won best short horror film at Shriekfest in LA and along with some private investors to help me fund the film we hope we can produce something of cinematic quality. I've also brought in an excellent cast and crew, all of which I've had the pleasure of working with over the past few years on various films. It's my first time producing, writing and acting  in a project so I'm already learning a lot as we go but I'm extremely excited and can't wait to show the finished results. Filming begins at the beginning of August.

You can stay up to date with Cannibals and Carpet Fitters on the official Facebook page.

A bit about the film

The title say's it all! Dean & Colin are two working class carpet fitters who are called on a job in the middle of nowhere by a sweet elderly lady Mrs Hanning. However the house has it's own secrets and the two quickly realise that this maybe the last job they ever go to.

  • "Richard had the ability to understand his character from day one of filming and has made it his own. With some very strong performances, not only comical, but also emotionally, Richard has been one of the easiest and most talented actors I have had the pleasure of working with. Reliable, on and off set, I hope to be able to work with him again in the near future."

Steve Best, Director of Zombie Hood

  • "Richard was an absolute pleasure to work with on "Deception". Very professional, patient, considerate and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to others."

    Paul Moxon, Lightweaver Productions

  • "Rich seemed to understand his character almost immediately and evidently put a lot of hard work and effort into making him come to life in front of the camera, exceeding my expectations!"

    Jeff Wilkinson, J.Wilkinson Films

  • "Richard is a wonderful young up and coming actor who I have been coaching for over a year now. He is incredibly proactive, takes direction well and is a hard working individual who is reliable and a delight to work with."
